REVIEWS

quote Huge variety, decent portions and a bustling but not too busy atmosphere. The Peking duck was better than expected. It came with cucumber, spring onions and pickles which were surprisingly good, and the cuts of the duck were crispy and tender. The prawn crackers were quite oily though. The noodles that came with the duck were quite good as well - again the meat was tender, and the taste with the noodles was just right. Garlic kailan really hit the spot, though it was a little salty - it would’ve been really good with rice. It was cooked very well though - just crunchy enough. There isn’t much to complain about here, definitely recommend it.

quote Our go to for a whole Peking Duck at $79 that comes with a choice of Sang Choi Pow (stir fried duce duck with lettuce wrap) or Duck Fried Noodles (better value). Add on a stir fried veg and you have a complete meal. A Hong Kong style roast meats restaurant, Good One BBQ offers the usual fare of Roast Pork, BBQ Pork, Soy Chicken as well as a whole extensive menu of wok cuisines. Impresively, this neighbourhood restaurant frequently has seasonal dishes that is always a crowd pleaser such as Singaporean Chili Mudcrabs and Ginger Shallots Lobster with Egg Noodles. This restaurant lives up to its name and it's good any day of the week.

quote Food here is definitely good, albeit a bit over priced compared with many others. That aside, I find that the service here is severely lacking. For starters they do not provide tap water which is something quite basic. And toward the later part of our meal, when theres just the last few bits of food on the plate, they would start to hover around you to try to clear the dishes. No matter that you haven't quite finished, they were intent at pressurising you anyway so that you'd quickly finish and go away and they could cycle the table for other customers. Today we were waiting for our little daughter to finish her dinner, but in 5 minutes we were disrupted 4 or 5 times by staff who wanted to take our dishes away along with the food still to be eaten on the plate. Even while we were still finishing up our food, they were already planning among themselves to quickly turn over our table to new customers. So it became a bit stressful and totally destroyed the mood for us. Today has been my fourth visit. Much as I like their food, I don't think I'll come back anymore. There are similar quality food at less cost, and less stress around.

quote Solid Cantonese food centred around their roast and BBQ meats, with Cantonese restaurant dishes rounding it out for a meal. The roast duck wasn't bad, above average for taste with tender meat and nicely rendered skin, and the roast pork was crispy although slightly burnt and the meat was ok. Other dishes were overall tasty, again above average and enjoyable for a casual meal. Bring cash to avoid a card fee.

quote It was our friend who introduced us to this restaurant by bringing us some of their dishes, and we were hooked. Today, we decided to visit the restaurant for an early dinner at 5:30 PM. Despite its small size, the restaurant was already busy. Please note that the menu is different before or after 4pm. We ordered their special fried rice, which was packed with flavor, and the mixed roasted sweet and well-seasoned Peking duck which was delightfully crunchy and juicy. My other favorite was their incredibly delicious bean curd (either with egg, or with mushroom + spinach), it saucy but still crunchy outside and soft inside. The service was efficient and attentive, exceeding our expectations. We're happy to add this restaurant to our top three HK BBQ favorites.
